Natural Occurrence series
Approximately 5" in height × 15" in length × 7.5" in width, Seed is a sculptural work inspired by the organic form and natural growth of a seed pod.
Sculpted from speckled stoneware clay and fired to Cone 6, the surface combines glazed and intentionally unglazed areas, allowing the natural character and texture of the clay to remain visible. The glaze adds depth and drama to the organic form while highlighting its sculptural details.
By adding a dried botanical, Seed takes on a new sense of life, evoking the moment a seed begins to sprout and new growth emerges.
This piece is part of the Natural Occurrence Series, an ongoing exploration of nature’s perfectly imperfect beauty through organic forms, texture, irregularity, and natural variation.
Each piece is individually sculpted by hand. While pieces within the series may share the same form and design, no two are exactly alike. Subtle variations in shape, texture, surface, and glaze make each piece distinct.
